The project background before the Asia Pacific Cities Summit 2007 hold in Shenzhen, the Shenzhen government set up a big planning hall at the area which named the window of the world in Shenzhen ,the government of Shenzhen and government of every district in Shenzhen pay a lot of attention for the exhibition.
Shenzhen located in Guangdong province and near to the sea, it is nearby HongKong and most of the people in Shenzhen are come from other places so Shenzhen is named the "immigrant city"

Digital Shenzhen is a virtual reality interactive demo system, it supports digital video and virtual tour .
This digital Shenzhen interactive demo system can be used in:
1.city plan demo , this demo system set up digital models of the center of Shenzhen ,the users can use it to get the city plan and experience the city life. The demo are delicate and beautiful it looks like a real one.
The demo system also supports city management . Such as get the view of the buildings, roads, green plan, the cables of the city, information inquiry, the users can get the information of all the roads, traffic line and the main corporations
3. The citizens can travel and inquire information through the internet, it meet the requirements of the information sharing goals of the government.
